The strong response from this Cuban in the U.S. to those who criticize seeking a partner in Cuba

A Cuban resident in the United States firmly responded to a follower who criticized her for meeting a man during a trip to Cuba, making it clear that the meeting was casual and that she does not financially support anyone.

The video, posted last Wednesday by the user @enly1903 on TikTok, was a response to a comment from a follower named Yamira, who wrote: "so many men here and going to look for men in Cuba who have nothing to offer but sex and go pay for everything there."

The creator quickly addressed each point of the criticism calmly but directly.

"I really wasn't looking for anyone because I don't have anyone... it's like you take a day off, and by chance I went to Cuba," he explained, describing the encounter as "something spontaneous, something memorable, something to remember."

Regarding the accusations of paying for the company of a man, she was equally direct: "I don't pay anyone for anything because I am quite a humble person, I work, I have two daughters, I don't have that much money to be paying someone, supporting someone."

He clarified that he did pay for the hotel during that trip, but only because he had planned to go regardless: "I went to a hotel and I went with someone that I obviously paid for, but I was going to go anyway, so that doesn't bother me much."

The TikToker also rejected the idea that she had made a mistake that she then repeated: "Believe me, I have not repeated any mistake; I learn from my mistakes, I have my feet firmly on the ground."

As evidence of this, she pointed out that since that meeting, more than two years have passed without her becoming romantically involved again: "That's why two and a half years have passed and I'm still alone."

One detail that caught attention was that Yamira, the author of the critical comment, is a follower of the account, something that the creator pointed out as contradictory to the tone of the message.

Far from being bothered, @enly1903 acknowledged that he anticipated this kind of reaction and that he uses it to his advantage: "I knew that by pretending I had found someone in Cuba, many people like you would come to comment on things like that," and he added, "Every comment, every ugly word, every bad wish someone can throw at me, it all works to my benefit."

The video is part of an ongoing debate within the Cuban community on TikTok regarding romantic relationships between members of the diaspora and people on the island, a topic that generates conflicting opinions among those who warn about exploitative dynamics and those who defend personal autonomy against external judgment.

This type of content has generated similar reactions in recent months: in February 2025, another Cuban TikToker criticized women who bring partners from Cuba and then abandon them, and on March 18, Cuban women living in Italy reported that Italian men travel to the island in search of a partner or sexual tourism.
