The little dog Lucas, star of the humorous videos by Cuban Ana Menéndez, now considers himself a celebrity: since his appearance on CiberCuba, he hasn’t stopped showing off to all the dog lovers in Cuba.

Last Thursday, Ana published a new reel on Instagram, humorously reacting to the sudden fame of her dog after the coverage of the viral TikTok video in which she used Lucas as a metaphor for the Cuban emigrant who was mistreated on the island but is now being asked for 100 dollars.

"Look, now he believes, it was featured in CiberCuba, now he knows it was a bunch of things," Ana says between laughs in the video.

According to the account, Lucas approached the publication with an seriousness that was unwarranted: "He has sent that publication to dog media in Cuba, to half-baked journalism in Cuba, and he sent it like it was a point of pride, you know what I mean?"

The response he received from his contacts on the island was not exactly a compliment: they described him as a "tremendous fool" because, despite everything, he still sends the 100 dollars to the "bitch" who is deceiving him.

"That dog of a woman used him for that and he sent her the 100 dollars, and he was proud of that my love, because he's so full of himself," Ana explains, unable to contain her laughter.

The video also includes a moment of direct complicity with this medium: Ana takes the opportunity to thank for the coverage, but with a humorous reproach included.

"I want to thank you, my love, because the other time you took me out, you took a photo of me that was stunning. It was so stunning that since then, no man has ever messaged me privately again. Never again," she says, addressing CiberCuba.

He adds that "everyone who had messaged me when they saw the post deleted their messages," but that this time it was different: "You took a photo because I looked much better with the black guy."

Regarding Lucas, his emotions are mixed: "Sometimes he cries because he feels sad about what that is, but other times he is also happy for having been featured in CiberCuba."

The original video from TikTok, which resonated deeply with the Cuban diaspora for portraying the double standards of those who ignored emigrants on the island and now seek them out out of necessity, .

The humor of Ana Menéndez is part of a well-established trend among Cubans abroad, where satire about remittances and double standards is one of the most popular genres on social media, and Lucas—conceited, in love, and with an empty wallet—has become her most beloved character.
