Gael de Jesús Leyva, a boy of just two years old, disappeared as evening fell in the community of Los Cerezo, municipality of Imías, in the province of Guantánamo, sparking an intense mobilization of authorities, volunteers, and neighbors that lasted for hours.

From the moment the disappearance was reported, every minute became a race against time, with dozens of people combing the surroundings of the rural settlement, an area of vegetation with semi-deciduous and xerophytic forests, searching for the child, reported the official spokesperson Carlos Perez.

The search was led by the Municipal Operations and Rescue Group, together with the Health Director, Yudi Alba Matos, the Ministry of the Interior, and the municipal mayor, who coordinated a joint deployment in various directions to cover as much ground as possible in the shortest amount of time.

Neighbors and volunteers immediately joined the operation, sparing no effort in a show of community unity in the face of the emergency. No one gave up during the tense hours that kept the entire locality on edge.

Finally, the child was found alive and safe, bringing an end to the collective anguish.

Her mother, deeply grateful, authorized the sharing of her name and images as a sign of appreciation to everyone who participated in the rescue.

The case also raises an alert about the importance of constant supervision of minors, especially in areas with natural hazards.

Authorities and neighbors reiterated the call to exercise increased caution at home, checking access points, fences, and potentially dangerous areas.

The people of Imías now celebrate the outcome, in which swift action, coordination, and solidarity were crucial for the child to safely return to the arms of his family.

In an equally incredible event, in March a young man was rescued alive after falling from the famous La Lisa bridge in Havana, an incident that created significant tension among neighbors and passersby who witnessed the scene.

Units from the Fire Department responded quickly and were able to assist the young man, who was trapped in an area of difficult access after the fall.

The rescue efforts took place amid the anticipation and concern of those present in the vicinity.

Likewise, in December, an elderly woman was rescued after falling into the sea in a section of Havana's Malecón, as reported by user Carlos Espinosa Betancourt in the group Wonderful Malecón on Facebook.

The witness described the operation as a "successful rescue" and assured that the woman, although disoriented, is in good condition, thanks to the quick intervention of the Rescue and Salvage Group.
