A woman rescued after falling into the sea at the Malecón in Havana

An elderly woman was rescued this Thursday after falling into the sea in an area of the Havana Malecón, according to user Carlos Espinosa Betancourt in the Facebook group Wonderful Malecón.

The witness described the operation as a "successful rescue" and stated that the woman, although disoriented, is in good condition, thanks to the swift intervention of the Rescue and Salvage Group.

In her post, Espinosa Betancourt explained that the woman had fallen into the water and that the rescuers acted quickly to save her alive.

The shared images show the lady standing and talking with her rescuers and several police officers, confirming that she did not suffer serious injuries.

The rescuers placed a ladder from the wall to the dog tooth, allowing the woman to climb on her own while one of the specialists assisted her closely.

To protect her from the cold and the wind, they put on a firefighter's jacket.

The photos suggest that the woman fell directly into the water—which aligns with the fact that she was covered up immediately. However, precise details regarding how the incident occurred remain unknown.

It is also unclear whether it was an accidental fall or if another circumstance occurred.
