The Puerto Rican singer Ozuna surprised his followers by openly declaring himself a reggaeton fan and expressing his admiration for Chocolate MC during a meeting with the Cuban content creator Harvynsito Rodríguez.
In the video, Ozuna reminds Harvynsito that he saw him a while ago in a clip singing "Guachineo," the anthem of the Cuban community: "You know that I saw a video of you singing guachineo with Chocolate years ago."
When asked if he knew the song, the artist replied without hesitation: "Of course, I’m a fan of Chocolate. One day I'm going to meet him," said El Negrito de Ojos Claros, after declaring himself "a repartero until death."
The statement comes just a day after Ozuna posted a video on TikTok proclaiming himself a fan of the Cuban urban genre, writing in the description: "Since yesterday I consider myself a REPARTERO !!!! @Dany ome @Kevincito el 13 #ElPaciente".
That TikTok was the prelude to their collaboration with Cuban artists Dany Ome and Kevincito El 13 on the song "El Paciente," whose preview surpassed 668,000 views within a few hours of its release.
Dany Ome celebrated the union with the message: "The genre is called collaboration. Thank you, Ozuna, for the opportunity… it's coming out right now. Puerto Rico and Cuba."
The connection between Ozuna and Chocolate MC is not new. In May 2019, Chocolate himself shared a video on Instagram in which the Puerto Rican reggaeton artist was singing verses from "Guachineo" and wrote: "Every time I see this video and you call me the beast and give me your blessing, I am even more convinced that something great is about to happen for me."
"Guachineo," released in 2015, became the biggest hit of the Cuban cast and has accumulated over nine million views on YouTube, in addition to having obtained a gold record in December 2019.
Ozuna's desire to meet Chocolate MC collides with a painful reality: on March 2, 2026, a Miami-Dade court sentenced the so-called "King of Distribution" to ten years in prison and five years of probation for incitement to crime, kidnapping, and theft.
Ozuna's collaboration with Cuban guest artists is seen by many fans of the genre as the greatest international boost received by the movement that emerged in the neighborhood of Los Sitios de La Habana, and the name Chocolate MC remains an undeniable reference even for the biggest stars of Latin urban music.
