José Manuel Blanco Palacios, a 22-year-old resident of El Cobre, in Santiago de Cuba, has been missing for seven days without any sign of life after leaving his home on Monday, April 13 at noon.

His father, desperate for news, reached out to the independent communicator Cuscó Tarradell to ask for public assistance and described what happened with these words: "He left the house last Monday at noon saying he would be back shortly, that he was going to take care of something… and until today, seven days, seven sad days, he has not returned."

José Manuel resides at La Paz s/n, in the area known as "El Marañonal".

"A resident of an area known as 'El Marañonal,' José Manuel is described as a very tall young man (over 1.80 meters), with a slim build, brown eyes, and mixed-race skin (jabao, as it's said in good Cuban). At this time, he does not have a mobile phone," the publication emphasized.

Additionally, according to the help request, the young man was last seen wearing "a short nylon floral shorts, the same light brown sweater that appears in his photograph, pink flip-flops, and carrying a black backpack. He used to work at a bakery in his area."

According to the information released, the police are aware of the case, and the numbers provided are 56660941 (father), 55549298 (mother), and 54527458 (aunt) for anyone who may have any information.

The case is reminiscent of another young man from Santiago who disappeared after leaving home to conduct a business deal, a situation that has occurred with alarming frequency in the region.

Also in Santiago de Cuba, Daniel Márquez Aguilera, an 18-year-old, was found deceased, a conclusion that shook the community.

The absence of official state protocols for locating missing persons forces families to turn to social media and independent communicators to spread awareness about these cases, which intensifies the alarm among neighbors and families with each new disappearance.
