The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed this Friday that he was diagnosed with very early stage prostate cancer and that he has already received successful treatment, according to an official statement published alongside his annual medical report.
Netanyahu, at 76 years old, explained that he deliberately delayed the publication of the report by two months to prevent the Iranian regime from using it as propaganda during the peak of the war between Israel and Iran.
The diagnosis referred to a very early stage of a malignant tumor, with no signs of spreading, according to the official medical report released by his office.
"I requested to delay its publication for two months so that it would not be released at the peak of the war and to prevent the Iranian terrorist regime from further spreading false propaganda against Israel," the leader stated.
The announcement comes in a context of heightened regional tension, marked by the Epic Fury Operation of February 28, 2026, which represented a turning point in the conflict between Israel and Iran.
Since then, the situation has evolved into a relative calm thanks to the fragile ceasefire agreed upon on April 8, 2026, an agreement that has been extended for an additional three weeks this past Wednesday.
