Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Huawei introduced the Yijing X9, known internationally as the Epicland X9, at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show (Auto China 2026), a luxury six-seater SUV that integrates Huawei's complete technological ecosystem into a production vehicle for the first time.
The model made its official debut on Wednesday, April 23, at the Huawei Automotive Technology Conference, one day before its public presentation at the Beijing Auto Show, which this year features 1,451 models and 181 global premieres in a record area of 380,000 square meters under the theme "Future of Intelligence."
The X9 measures 5,301 mm in length, with a wheelbase of 3,120 mm and a height of 2,015 mm, placing it in the F segment of large luxury SUVs. Its design, referred to as "Starlight Warrior," applies the golden ratio of 0.618 to the front fascia and utilizes ultra-high strength steel of 2,400 MPa in the body.
Visually, the vehicle features intelligent projection headlights with one million pixels, along with a welcome sequence that projects light signatures onto the ground. It has 412 dual ISD LEDs at the front capable of communicating with pedestrians and other drivers, and a rear light strip measuring 1.83 meters with 1,172 LEDs that create an effect known as "river of stars."
The roof houses the 896-line LiDAR sensor from Huawei, described as the highest resolution ever installed on a mass-produced vehicle, integrated within the Qiankun ADS 4.1 autonomous driving system, which includes a total of 36 external sensors: three additional solid-state LiDARs, nine millimeter-wave radars, twelve ultrasonic radars, and 11 high-definition cameras.
The interior features the "Harmony Space 6" cabin, equipped with two 17.2-inch butterfly wing screens running HarmonyOS, zero-gravity seats, and real-time voice interaction with artificial intelligence.
The X9 is the first vehicle co-developed with Huawei to offer the company's complete technological suite: autonomous driving, cabin, smart chassis, automotive optics, cloud services, and an 800-volt platform. It will be sold in pure electric and extended range versions, featuring dual-chamber air suspension, continuous dampening control, and four-wheel steering.
The expected price is below 350,000 yuan (approximately 50,000 dollars), which is lower than the Voyah Taishan, directly competing with the Li Auto L9 and the AITO M9 in the Chinese luxury electric vehicle market.
The partnership between Dongfeng and Huawei under the Yijing brand was announced in November 2025, along with another parallel brand called Qijing —internationally known as Aistaland— developed with the GAC Group. Huawei's business model in the automotive sector does not involve manufacturing vehicles directly: the technology company provides the software, autonomous driving systems, and the digital ecosystem, while Dongfeng takes on manufacturing and production scale.
This strategy had already proven effective with AITO, the brand developed with Seres Group since 2021, which surpassed 500,000 units delivered in China by the end of 2024, and with Luxeed, the partnership with Chery initiated in 2024, consolidating Huawei as a central player in the new energy automotive industry in China.
"The tech giants are no longer mere guests in the automotive industry. They are the new owners," summarized the event presenter at Auto China 2026, encapsulating the message that Dongfeng and Huawei aim to project with the Epicland X9 to the global market.
