Karel Daniel Hernández Bosques, a member of the youth collective 'Fuera de la Caja Cuba', published a video on social media to denounce that State Security summoned his mother with the intent to threaten the group with imprisonment if they continue to produce critical content against the regime.
"Ayer, my mom was summoned to be told that if we continue making videos, we will go to jail. And apparently, it is illegal here not to be a communist. But don't worry, we will continue making videos," Karel Daniel stated in the video.
According to reports, Yusleidy Bosques was summoned this Saturday to the PNR Unit of Cerro, in Havana. The group published the official citation document as evidence, which states that Yusleidy was called "for the purpose of being interviewed."
"I am pleased to know that Cubans are becoming increasingly united. Even those who came by bicycle did so in a sort of caravan. Together, and we are growing in numbers," said the young man, referring to the support of a group of people who accompanied them to the "interview."
The summons to Karel Daniel's mother is the most recent episode in a systematic repression campaign against the collective that has been ongoing since February 2026.
'Fuera de la Caja Cuba' was founded in early January of that year in Cerro, Havana, by four young people around twenty years old who use art, theater, and social media to challenge state indoctrination, identifying themselves with red caps bearing the slogan "Make Cuba Great Again".
The reprisals have escalated progressively. In February, agents visited the homes of collective members and presented themselves to the grandmother of one of them pretending to be friends.
On March 10, two agents from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) intercepted the father of member Amanda Beatriz Andrés Navarro at his workplace to threaten him that the young people would be imprisoned.
On March 18, State Security once again intimidated the families of the group by visiting the home of Karel Daniel's mother and the father of another member.
In March, ETECSA disabled the phones of all members as retaliation for their public support of influencer Anna Bensi. In April, their WhatsApp accounts were simultaneously hacked in what the group described as a coordinated offensive against their digital presence.
The repression against 'Fuera de la Caja Cuba' is part of a broader pattern of harassment targeting critical activists and content creators.
The collective El4tico, with whom they share affinity, suffered the detention of its members Ernesto Ricardo Medina and Kamil Zayas Pérez on February 6 in Holguín.
After 72 days in prison without a trial date, Medina has refused to record the repentance video required by State Security, and Zayas Pérez sent a letter from prison stating that "they take us to the holding cell for telling the truth"
For their part, Anna Bensi and her mother have been under house arrest since March 25, facing sentences of two to five years. Amnesty International documented these cases in April 2026 and demanded that the Cuban authorities end the repression.
Karel Daniel closed his message with a direct warning to the regime: "Cubans are already tired of you using mothers to instill fear in their children. Cubans are already tired of you. Leave. We want to live in peace. Homeland and Life".
