The Cuban comedian José Carlos Pérez «Carlucho» hinted at the end of his romantic relationship with Lilliet Rodríguez «Lily» during a live interview with CiberCuba from Madrid.
The question about "where is Lily" arose spontaneously among the live audience's comments. Carlucho's response was careful, emotional, and deliberately cryptic.
"Lily is not a woman you can simply let go. She is a woman you carry with you forever, in a very special place. That is all I can say to everyone who is concerned," said the comedian before resorting to a philosophical metaphor to describe the state of the relationship.
"Things do not have to last a lifetime to be eternal. There are eternal things, for example, the love for a mother, for a father. There are eternal loves," he stated, implicitly comparing his marital bond to a love that persists even when the person is no longer present.
Without explicitly confirming or denying a breakup, Carlucho expressed words of deep appreciation for his partner of a decade.
"That's the only comment I'm going to make about a woman who dedicated the last 10 years to making me the happiest man on the planet."
The interview comes at a time of high visibility for Carlucho, who has been residing in Madrid for approximately a year and a half after more than 30 years living in Miami.
In April 2025, Carlucho received accreditation from the Spanish government to serve as a correspondent in Europe, representing 1140 AM WQBA and the stations of Latino Media Holding.
At that moment, he confessed that he had been wanting to settle in Spain for years, a country he had visited several times with friends and family. However, that does not mean he intends to distance himself permanently from Miami.
In the interview with CiberCuba this week, the comedian also responded to the controversy with presenter Carlos Otero, who had publicly stated that he would never work with him again.
Carlucho expressed understanding and hinted that, unlike other Cuban artists, he has neither the space nor the time to hate anyone. His professional life keeps him very busy.
On May 3rd, Carlucho will perform alongside Robertico in the show "El Reencuentro" at the Teatro Las Vegas in Madrid, marking their first joint performance as Los Bufomaníacos in over 25 years.
