A white pickup truck collided with the rear of a bus from Ómnibus Nacionales in Havana, on the first ring bridge, during the afternoon of this Sunday. The accident did not result in any reported injuries or fatalities.

The incident was reported in the Facebook group “Bus & Truck Accidents” by user Yeilier Cabrera, who described the event as a “traffic accident on the bridge of the first ring, in the afternoon hours.”

The bus involved, identified by the number 3073, belongs to the fleet of the Chinese brand Yutong that operates National Buses on interprovincial routes.

The truck (apparently an Isuzu D-Max)  sustained severe damage to its front, with the body completely destroyed by the impact, while the bus showed minor damage in comparison.

A supposed witness to the events explained in the comments of the post what happened: "I was there, the right tire of the truck blew out and it crashed into the bus."

The causes and responsibilities of the accident have not been officially confirmed, and the witness's account is the only available narrative regarding the cause of the incident.

In the images of the location, a group of about 10 to 15 people can be seen gathered between the two vehicles, apparently witnesses or involved, with no visible presence of emergency teams at the time the photo was taken.

In December 2025, a BAW truck collided with a Yutong on the Santiago highway, leaving the driver in critical condition.

In November 2025, a Yutong bus accident in Cienfuegos resulted in two fatalities and 18 injuries, and in January of that year, a collision between two Yutong buses in Morón caused six deaths and 59 injuries.

Cuba is experiencing a serious road safety crisis: by May 2025, there have been 3,035 accidents, resulting in 2,670 injuries and 290 fatalities, a figure that represents an increase in the number of deaths compared to the previous year despite a reduction in the total number of incidents.

The human factor is the main cause identified in 80% of road accidents in Cuba, including driver fatigue, speeding, and recklessness.
