The Cuban influencer Amanda Camaraza broke her silence with a reel on Instagram to respond to the avalanche of criticism and insults she received after revealing her intention to buy a gold watch with a budget of 10,000 dollars, and the reaction from her followers —including several well-known figures— was immediate.

It all began when Amanda visited a Cuban-American jewelry store in Downtown Miami, and the owner Carlos Marcelin explained to her that solid gold Rolexes range from $33,000 to $70,000, far beyond what she had available. The video of that visit went viral on social media, sparking a wave of comments labeling her as "miserable," "inflated," and "speculator."

In her response, Amanda adopted a firm and reflective tone. "I just found out that I’m a miserable bitch, that I’m a poser, that I’m a speculator, that I want to pretend to be more than I am," she began the video, going over the insults she had received.

He argued that his money is the result of "hours and hours and hours of hard work," and that he only allows himself certain luxuries after covering food, housing, transportation, and the health of his son and family.

He also clarified that he has no knowledge about watches, brands, or prices, and that he was simply looking for "a gold watch for everyday use, a watch that is going to get scratched."

Amanda also pointed out a pattern she considers recurrent: "Cubans have to seek out problems, gossip, controversy, and malice in everyone. Well, no, that's just how they are, because I don't include myself." This is not the first time the influencer reflects on the behavior of part of the Cuban community on social media.

The video, which garnered over 180,000 views and 41,728 likes, rallied support from several figures in the Cuban community.

Heydy González wrote: "My dear, those are empty opinions. Don't give power to voices that haven't built anything on your path. Your peace is worth more than any opinion. Keep shining, keep focusing on yourself and your family."

Aly Sánchez, the comedian and host who recently celebrated her 40th birthday, was the voice of the famous with the greatest impact. "You are a very hard-working girl and you don't owe explanations to anyone who sees you differently; that reflects more on them than on you. Keep moving forward," she wrote.

The content creator Claudia Artiles, who claimed to have met her in person, described her as "very humble and charming." Even the jewelry store where everything took place came to her defense: "You are not miserable, you are smart. Life is about priorities. The system in Cuba has only brought division. It is we Cubans who criticize and offend each other; that has been the only achievement of the revolution."

Among the followers, the comment by Manuel Alejandro Perez Odicio—Amanda's partner—garnered 946 likes: "We are in an era where people are measured by what they have and not by who they are." Miguelín David also weighed in: "Don't pay attention to that, zero explanations." Samantha Hernández called her "a champion and a role model," and Señorita Dayana added: "The light bothers you, Mimi. Stay focused on your family and your work and keep growing, because looking down makes you dizzy."

Amanda closed her video with a reflection that many resonated with: "Money does not define you as a person. What you do, how you feel, how you express yourself, how you treat others, is truly what matters." The controversy over the $10,000 watch continues to spark debate on social media, where the discussion between unconditional support and criticism of luxury spending shows no signs of waning.
