Pollito Tropical went out this Thursday to publicly defend his friend Gino Montalvo through his Instagram stories, harshly criticizing the behavior that Fruta has displayed towards the Cuban influencer within Planeta Alofoke.
"I don't like how Fruta has been behaving with Gino lately. I have mixed feelings about Fruta and I care for him, but these days I feel that he has mistreated Gino. Maybe I'm wrong, but he's crossing the line," stated Randy Álvarez, the real name of the popular Cuban content creator.
Pollito Tropical and Fruta share a friendship that began on La Casa de Alofoke 2, a reality show where both appeared. This gives their words a special significance: they come not from a rival, but from someone who cares for them and still chose to speak.
Pollito's message was not limited to criticism. He also made a direct appeal for support for Gino: "Without holding anything back, Gino should win this reality show for many reasons, so let's continue to support him until he wins."
Pollito Tropical joined Planeta Alofoke on April 27 specifically to support Gino, although he left the reality show just a few days later. From the outside, however, he continues to keep an eye on what happens with his friend.
The controversy surrounding Fruta intensified after the sanction imposed on Gino on May 4, when all his points were taken away for having a hidden cell phone in his suitcase. Fruta reacted at that moment by calling him a "cheater," an attitude that did not go unnoticed among the Cuban community following the show.
Y Pollito Tropical was not the only one to raise their voice. The Cuban influencer Sachy Sánchez also posted a video this Thursday in defense of Gino, with a direct message to Fruta that left no room for doubt.
"Content is one thing, but embodying it with disrespect is greed," Sachy wrote in the video description.
In the clip, the host acknowledged that until recently she defended Fruta's behavior as just a reality strategy, but her perspective has changed: "I'm starting to think that your frustration because you are not, you used to be, is leading you to be disrespectful."
Sachy also reminded Fruta that Gino has given her opportunities to join his content without reciprocating with respect: "Just because you feel obsolete doesn't mean you can come to embrace her with the person who hasn't embraced her with you."
The conclusion of their message was as direct as the rest: "Calm down. Calm down. Because everything could turn against you."
Gino Montalvo entered Planeta Alofoke on April 13, carrying the Cuban flag and quickly became one of the most beloved figures of the show, although the journey has not been easy: in addition to the penalty for his phone, Alofoke himself confronted him live, telling him that "he did not deserve the first place," which sparked a massive wave of Cuban support on social media.
