The Cuban influencer Gino Montalvo, known as "Oyacito King of Kings," experienced the lowest point of his time on Planeta Alofoke: the production team removed all his accumulated points after discovering a hidden cellphone in his suitcase, causing him to lose his lead and start from scratch in the competition.
The incident was captured in a video posted on the official TikTok of the program, which garnered 1,800,000 views and over 64,100 likes in just a few hours, making it one of the most talked-about moments of the reality show.
The images show how the production confronts Gino directly: "Do you know that you have the cell phone? Where is it? Find it, get it for me. You have to hand it over."
Gino initially denied having the device, but he eventually handed it over and confessed the truth: "It was the day the kid gave it to me and didn't ask for it back, and I kept it."
According to his explanation, a program employee had lent him the phone the previous Thursday so he could talk to his mom about a ticket, and they simply never picked it up from him.
The reaction inside the house was immediate. La Fruta quickly exclaimed, "Yes, you’re going outside, cheater, I’m leaving, so you’re in first place with a phone."
The sanction came just hours later from the mouth of the reality show's own producer. Santiago Matías (Alofoke) announced on Instagram that Gino would start from scratch on the points table, erasing in one go the thousands of points he had accumulated.
Santiago Matías also revealed that another participant, Diana, ended up with -70,000 points for the same issue regarding the cell phones, and that he dismissed the camera operators and the person who hired them for not having detected the situation earlier.
The blow is especially hard when considering Gino's journey on the show. Since his entry into Planeta Alofoke on April 13, carrying the Cuban flag, he became a central and polarizing figure in the competition.
On April 23, he was the center of a confrontation that sparked massive support from the Cuban community with the hashtag #TeamGino, and days later, Santiago Matías himself confronted him live, telling him "you don't deserve to be number one".
After his brief stint on the show, Pollito Tropical reacted to Gino's sanction with a message on Facebook: "I hope Santiago Matías gives the points back to @oyacito and that it’s all just a strategy. Punish him for what he did, but not like this, Alofoke."
On social media, the debate was split between those who support Gino and question the severity of the measure, and those who defend the strict enforcement of the reality show's rules, which explicitly prohibit any communication devices with the outside world.
The incident completely alters the competitive landscape of Planeta Alofoke: the Cuban who arrived promising to represent his country "with love, discipline, and unity" will have to rebuild his position from scratch in a game where every point matters.
