Supermanzana 4 is a central and mixed area of Cancun, featuring both commercial and residential activities, where you can find businesses, offices, and services such as notaries.

This case adds to a series of arrests of Cuban citizens in Cancun and the state of Quintana Roo for various crimes in recent months.

In January 2026, a Cuban was arrested in Cancun linked to an international criminal network, and in October 2025, two Cubans originally from Las Tunas were arrested in the same city for carrying a 9 mm pistol without legal documentation, a case that was referred to the Attorney General's Office as it involved a federal crime.

Cancún is one of the main destinations for Cuban migrants in Mexico, serving both as a transit point to the United States and as a temporary place of residence. In recent years, the city has seen an increase in cases involving Cuban citizens engaged in various types of crimes, but there are also many instances of Cubans as victims of kidnapping, extortion, and human trafficking.
