Sofía Karim, the daughter of the late Cuban singer El Taiger, celebrated her seventh birthday with a surprise outdoor party, as shown in the stories posted on her Instagram profile @sofia_karimm.
The images reveal a themed celebration of Kuromi and My Melody, the popular characters from Sanrio, with decorations in pink, black, and purple that set the mood for the entire party.
At the beginning of the celebration, Sofía wore a yellow mask over her eyes—an unmistakable sign that the party was a surprise—a pink sash with the word "Birthday" and a white dress with red details.
Her mother, Kathy García, appeared in the images placing a crown on the girl, who was also adorned with a tiara and a sleeveless white dress.
The dessert table was one of the most festive moments: the main cake showcased the inscription "Happy Birthday" and figures of Kuromi, while a small purple cake confirmed the birthday girl's age with the inscription "7 Sofia".
The party, held in what appears to be the courtyard of a residential complex in the United States, also featured a mermaid-shaped piñata in shades of purple, pink, and gold, which Sofía enthusiastically hit while surrounded by adults and family members.
This seventh birthday is the second that Sofía celebrates without the presence of her father, El Taiger (José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar), who passed away on October 10, 2024, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami at the age of 37, after being found with a gunshot wound to the head on October 3 of that year.
His death was investigated as homicide and shocked the world of Cuban urban music.
The previous year, Sofía had celebrated her sixth birthday at a small party with her siblings Yaliet and Lucas Mateo, also in the United States.
El Taiger publicly announced Kathy García's pregnancy on April 9, 2019, introducing her as his Cuban girlfriend. However, months later, both confirmed that they were no longer in a romantic relationship and that they were only co-parenting the child.
Congratulations to Sofía!
