Yomil Hidalgo once again touched the hearts of his followers this Monday by sharing images on his Instagram stories from the Cementerio de Colón in Havana, where he visited the graves of three friends who profoundly impacted his life: El Dany, El Taiger, and Tresto.
With colorful flower bouquets and messages filled with pain and love, the Cuban reggaeton artist once again fulfilled the ritual he has maintained since the death of his duo partner: honoring his memory every 18 of the month.
In one of the stories, Yomil is seen holding the bouquet in front of El Dany's grave with the song "Me Encantaría" playing in the background and the message: "Rest in Peace, my brother @danny_mas_duro."
In another post, while the song Papelito by El Taiger was playing, he wrote: "Rest in peace to the crew @el_taiger."
In the third, from Tresto's grave, she placed another bouquet of flowers and posted: "Another brother we miss a lot EPD @frestone_es_champion," along with the song "Tengo" by Yomil and El Dany, in which he mentions his deceased friend.
The 18th holds a special and irreplaceable meaning for Yomil. El Dany —whose real name was Daniel Muñoz Borrego— passed away on July 18, 2020 at the age of 31 at the Calixto García Hospital in Havana, due to an acute cardiovascular condition. Since then, Yomil has kept his promise: flowers and memories every 18th.
"The flowers every 18 for a brother," he has stated on other occasions, reaffirming a loyalty that has now lasted nearly six years.
In July 2025, marking the fifth anniversary of that loss, Yomil moved Cuba with his tribute and wrote: "We will never forget you... five years later, keeping you in our hearts as on the first day."
El Taiger —José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar— was one of the most significant figures in Cuban reggaeton. He passed away on October 10, 2024, at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, at the age of 37, after being shot on October 3. He was buried in the Colón Cemetery alongside his mother. Yomil included him in his monthly ritual just weeks later, in November 2024.
Tresto, known on social media as @frestone_es_champion, was a close friend of Yomil since the early days of the duo, part of the neighborhood circle of Cayo Hueso. He died violently in Parque Trillo, in Central Havana, on the night of February 26, 2026, allegedly after being stabbed multiple times. Yomil bid him farewell with a heart-wrenching message: "Cayo Hueso is in mourning again. They killed Tresto."
He also wrote then: "Yesterday, life took one of my best friends from me again… We were alone against the world."
This Monday's tribute is the first in which Tresto appears alongside El Dany and El Taiger at Yomil's monthly ritual, just three months after his death.
With each 18th of the month, Yomil has transformed this date into a symbol of remembrance within the Cuban urban movement: a simple gesture—flowers, a song, an Instagram story—that reminds his fans that some brothers are never forgotten.
