The Cuban influencer Bryan Batista, known on social media as @soyvaquero_, announced his move from Miami to a 5.2-acre ranch located in Sarasota, Florida, in a video posted this Wednesday that sparked a flood of reactions among his followers.
"I just moved to a 5.2-acre ranch to become a real cowboy. The adventure starts now," Batista stated at the beginning of the video, which was published simultaneously on Instagram and TikTok.
The content creator explained that the decision matured about three months ago when he realized that his cowboy nickname couldn't just remain a name: "You know that about three months ago my cowboy name was simply a name. But I decided that this name had to become a reality. That's why first I bought a horse, then I bought another one. And now I'm officially living on a ranch in Sarasota, Florida."
Batista humorously acknowledges that he never grew up in the countryside, but he has always been drawn to that way of life: "You’re going to see a kid who never grew up in the field but has always loved the countryside, and he’s going to become a real cowboy."
Among his plans for the property is the construction of a training arena in the back of the land for practicing roping—the equestrian discipline of rodeo where riders lasso steers—full-time. "If I want to rope and if I want to dedicate myself to roping, I have to train a lot," he explained. He also plans to populate the ranch with horses, cows, roosters, hens, and ducks.
The post sparked a wave of positive comments from her community. "Congratulations, the best thing you did," wrote a follower. Another requested, "We want blogs of a day with you taking care of the ranch. I love those videos." A resident of Sarasota described the area as a hidden gem: "East Sarasota is a privileged place. Countryside just 30 minutes from the beach."
The news also resonated among Cubans outside of Florida. A follower based in Spain commented, "I am very happy that a Cuban like me is also fighting and putting Cuba's name high. You are my role model, my inspiration." Another Cuban in Florida added, "I’m from Havana, I’ve never even been to the countryside, and now I have a two-acre farm in Homestead and I want one up there that’s over 5 acres! That’s life!"
The move from Miami —a symbol of the Cuban community in exile— to a semi-rural area in Sarasota represents a life change that its followers have welcomed enthusiastically and that promises to become the focal point of its content in the coming months.
The video posted on TikTok garnered over 17,000 views in less than 24 hours, while on Instagram it surpassed 13,500, with hundreds of comments requesting a full tour of the ranch.
