Ryan Muñiz Torres, son of Dayanara Torres and Marc Anthony, made his runway debut during the first edition of Casa de Campo Fashion Week, held from June 4 to 7 at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas and Altos de Chavón in the Dominican Republic.
The 22-year-old model walked for the Dominican designer José Cristian Lagares, wearing a blue button-up shirt and striking high-waisted wide-cut red satin pants that quickly sparked comments on social media.
Dayanara Torres, who served as the official ambassador of the event, watched the debut from the front row and shared her excitement on Instagram last Friday with an emotional message directed to her son: "Last night, at your first catwalk, I saw you shine. I saw you focused, confident, and giving it your all, putting into practice everything you have learned with so much effort and dedication. As a mother, I cannot express the pride I felt seeing you there."
However, Ryan's debut was not without criticism on social media. Some users pointed out that the young man "didn't smile" during the parade, while others questioned the speed of his walk on the runway or the red pants he was wearing.
Dayanara responded to those criticisms firmly on Enrique Santos' show, where she explained that her son's behavior was completely appropriate: "People, none of them are supposed to smile. That's how modeling works. And the speed as well. They were all in sync."
The former beauty queen, with over three decades of experience in the modeling industry, also described the preparation process the models underwent for the event: "They are trained. They have rehearsals for three days where they practice the same thing—walking quickly, there's no time to waste; it's not about you, it's about the clothes. Walk quickly, be serious, keep a fixed gaze, and that's it. That's how the modeling world operates. People who don't know or understand start talking too much."
Regarding the red pants that generated so much discussion, Dayanara was equally straightforward in responding to one of the hosts of the show: "Because that's the style, Chumare. This is a fashion thing. You don't know that."
This runway debut is not Ryan's first foray into the fashion world. In October 2023, he had already taken his first steps as a model in a photo shoot for People en Español when he was twenty years old.
The young man has publicly stated his desire to build his own name in the industry, beyond being known as the son of two iconic figures in entertainment.
