A romantic gesture by a Cuban couple became one of the most talked-about videos of the day on TikTok this Thursday, after the man got down on one knee in front of his girlfriend and presented her with a surprise box containing a bouquet of red roses.

The clip, published on the account @carlaysufamilia, shows the moment when the woman receives the box from her partner, who kneels in front of her. Upon opening it, the Cuban cannot hold back her emotions upon discovering the surprise her "chicho" had prepared for her.

"Oh, how exciting, oh my love, let him open it, let him open it, let him open it!" is heard exclaiming the woman in the first seconds of the video, as she tries to process the surprise.

The description that accompanied the post was as simple as it was eloquent: "I love you."

The video, lasting 45 seconds, garnered over 23,200 views and nearly 1,589 reactions within a few hours of its publication, reflecting the broad resonance that this type of content has among the Cuban community on social media.

@carlaysufamilia is a Cuban family account that has established a strong presence on TikTok, known for sharing both everyday and special moments of the family. The young girl Carla, one of its members, had already captured the attention of thousands of followers in July 2025 when she joined a popular high-heel balancing challenge that went viral.

Romantic surprises featuring Cubans are a recurring and highly popular genre on TikTok. Last May, a Cuban boyfriend surprised his partner dressed as a bear, generating thousands of interactions, while in February a Cuban woman went viral for setting up a romantic decoration with roses, candles, and heart-shaped balloons for her partner.

This type of videos, which capture gestures of affection and intimate moments between Cuban couples, both on the island and in the diaspora, continues to generate a massive response on social media and is solidifying itself as one of the most beloved types of content within the community.

In August 2025, a marriage proposal by a Cuban in Miami Beach also went viral, adding to a long list of romantic moments that Cubans have shared with the world through social media.
