Cuban mother explodes against Díaz-Canel: "Is this what we are supposed to be grateful for from the revolution? Look at my little one!"

"Do you know what my daughter really needs? She needs a breeze to stay cool and avoid this sweat that keeps her awake, irritated, and with a terrible itch 24 hours a day. She needs to be in front of the air conditioning or the fan like normal people live anywhere in the world.": Cuban mother erupts against Díaz-Canel.

A Cuban mother identified as Evelyn Perera posted a message on Facebook this Monday directly addressing Miguel Díaz-Canel, in which she denounces that her young daughter is suffering from a widespread rash caused by extreme heat and lack of electricity, and demands that he take responsibility for the failure of his administration and relinquish power.

The photographs accompanying the Facebook post show the baby with multiple papules on her back, neck, and legs, a condition consistent with miliaria or heat rash, which particularly affects infants whose skin has not yet properly regulated body temperature.

"Look, Canel, is this what we are supposed to be grateful for from the revolution? Look at my little one! Look at her with a rash that won't go away even with toasted cornstarch, chamomile, or any of the creams that are also unavailable," Perera wrote.

The mother indicates that she has exhausted all available home remedies and that there are also no creams in the Cuban market to treat the condition.

"Do you know what my daughter really needs? She needs a breeze to stay cool and avoid this sweat that has her constantly alive, irritated, and suffering from horrible itching 24 hours a day. She needs to be in front of the air conditioning or a fan, like normal people live anywhere in the world," he added.

The message concludes with a direct accusation to the regime: "Your supposed revolution only produces misery, blackouts, and suffering for the most vulnerable. You are incompetent and abusive! Acknowledge the complete failure of your management and get lost, because nobody wants you or chose you!"

The testimony of Perera comes at the worst moment of the record electricity crisis in Cuba, with a forecasted deficit this Monday of 2,150 MW compared to a demand of 3,100 MW and an availability of only 980 MW, according to the Electric Union.

On June 25, a historic record deficit was recorded: 2,208 MW, surpassing the previous peak from May 14.

In Havana, power outages exceed 20 hours a day, while in Matanzas, there were 85 consecutive hours without electricity between June 14 and June 17.

It's not the first time Perera has raised his voice. In April, he posted a picture dining with his children by flashlight and cooking with charcoal, with the message "It pains my soul to see them like this, growing up in the shadows and inheriting a scarcity they did not seek."

On June 9, he recounted four consecutive nights without sleep and described the daily agony of the blackouts: "They are killing us slowly. And to make matters worse, after keeping us in the dark like animals, they come with their bold faces to collect the electricity bill. It’s a mockery!"

The crisis has structural causes that have accumulated over decades: thermoelectric plants that are more than 40 years old, chronic fuel shortages, and the definitive cutoff of Venezuelan oil supply since January 2026.

The extreme summer heat, exacerbated by the Saharan dust that arrived in Cuba in June, turns unventilated nights into an especially dangerous situation for babies and small children, who are the most vulnerable to the lack of electricity that the regime has neither been able to resolve nor seems willing to address.
