The Cuban influencer Dina Stars shared a video on Instagram this week of her mother, Ileana Fernández, completely melted with love while holding baby Derek in her arms. She accompanied the video with a confession that had her followers laughing: "That’s the same lady who once hit me with the rice cooker."
The reel posted on her Instagram account amassed thousands of likes and dozens of comments, showcasing Ileana in her role as a delighted grandmother, holding the little one with a tenderness that, according to Dina, she has never seen before.
"Now the child can't even cry. But it doesn't matter! I LOVE HER," wrote the content creator alongside the clip, encapsulating in a few words the contrast between the demanding mother she remembers from her childhood and the grandmother completely devoted to her first grandchild.
The post sparked a flurry of comments from followers who immediately identified with the situation.
"He was saving his love for the grandson," joked one. "And then they have the nerve to say that never happened. They have selective memory... grandmothers are pure love," pointed out another.
The mention of the rice cooker became the central theme of the conversation. "We need the story of how that rice cooker came to be in your mind, hahaha. I love them," requested a follower. "With frying pans, that's acceptable, but with the rice cooker, it's a whole other level," another added, laughing.

Derek, the first son of Dina Stars, was born on June 12 in Spain and at the time of the video, he is about a month old, something several followers noticed: "Is it just me or does Derek look super big for just being one month old?"
Ileana traveled from Cuba to Spain in early May 2026 to be with her daughter during childbirth, after eight months of separation. The emotionally charged reunion between mother and daughter took place at a Spanish train station, where Dina's partner, Isaías, was also present.
Before traveling, in April 2026, Ileana had seen the 5D ultrasound of the baby via video call from Cuba, deeply moved by the image of her future grandson.
"That's how grandmothers are, all love... you will understand us when you become grandmothers," concluded a follower, expressing in words what Dina's video made clear without needing further explanations.
