Karol G set social media ablaze this Thursday by sharing a preview of her new song, "Matadora," with one condition for its release: to reach a million comments on the post.

The Colombian artist accompanied the clip with the message "1 Million Comments and I'll release it tomorrow in the show," announcing that she would debut the song live the next day at the opening concert of her world tour "Viajando por el Mundo Tropitour" at Soldier Field in Chicago, scheduled for this Friday.

The music video, directed by New Zealand choreographer Parris Goebel, features Karol G from behind, wearing short shorts with a neon pink sign displaying the word "Nasty," surrounded by dancers in the same outfit.

The snippet of lyrics that accompanies the images has an urban and sensual tone: "Those little eyes, oh baby, don't look at me like that or I’ll get fierce."

The post garnered over 1.4 million likes and 366,000 comments in about 15 hours.

Fans of "La Bichota" flocked to comment in droves to unlock the early release. The reactions were immediate and enthusiastic: "This is how I like it!!!! Dirty reggaeton," "I CAN'T HANDLE IT," "Alright, but comment!!!! We need this today!"

Other fans showed the extent of their devotion: "Karol, I've been to 7 of your concerts literally traveling the world," while some were already anticipating the wait: "I think October is too far away to see this live."

The sound of "Matadora" was interpreted by many followers as a return of Karol G to her urban roots and reggaeton, in contrast to "Después de ti," the ballad that she premiered on the Coachella 2026 stage, where she made history as the first Latina to headline that festival.

Goebel, the director of the "Matadora" video, is a top figure in the industry, known for his work with artists such as Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and BLACKPINK, among others.

The release comes at a time of peak momentum for the artist. Her tour "Traveling the Tropitour World", announced in April 2026, includes over 63 concerts in stadiums across North America, South America, and Europe until 2027, and sold over 2 million tickets in its first four days of sales.

"Matadora" is set to become the next big single from the Colombian artist, featuring a festive sound that could compete for the title of summer song against any rival.

The album "Tropicoqueta," released in June 2025, debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 with 57,000 equivalent units and reached number one on the Top Latin Albums chart, solidifying Karol G's position as one of the most influential Latin artists in the world.
