Velito El Bufón responded to the breakup rumors with his girlfriend Paula Martínez in the most decisive way without uttering a single word: he shared a story on Instagram featuring the two of them at a restaurant in Havana, smiling, with heart emojis, and directly tagging her profile (@paula.martinez_00).
The video, shared in his Instagram stories, shows the Cuban singer—with dreadlocks, a piercing, and a chain around his neck—close up, while Paula appears in the background, blonde and smiling, holding utensils in front of a plate of food. No statement, no formal denial: an image that speaks louder than a thousand words.
Rumors had exploded when the popular Cuban gossip account Un Martí To Durako dropped a bomb on social media: "I believe this relationship has come to an end. What was formed in Madrid in the dressing room stays there, but I will put it here."
The post, which did not provide concrete details but hinted that something had happened during the singer's recent European tour in Spain, amassed 3,780 likes and 111 comments within a few hours, igniting social media.
But Velito's Instagram story was not the only reaction to the scandal. Earlier, his ex Thalía also spoke out on Monday with a video in which she appears wearing oversized sunglasses, a white cap, and a knotted blouse, under the title "in the end, I won," which surpassed 2,100 likes.
Velito and Paula have been together for several months. The singer officially announced the relationship on April 13 on Instagram, just weeks after his breakup with Thalía, with whom he has two children.
In May, he introduced her in Havana as "my woman," and in June the couple showcased a romantic yacht ride. Even in early July, when distance separated them due to the European tour, the singer dedicated a story to her with the message "I miss you so much."
Thalía, for her part, has already restarted her life with Cuban producer Dany Herrera, whom she introduced on July 1 with a post that received over 12,500 likes, and who surprised her on July 21, confirming that the relationship is serious.
For now, the Instagram story from a restaurant in Havana is Velito's only public response to the rumors. The singer hasn't spoken up, but the image speaks for him: the couple remains together, at least in front of social media.
