Roberto Ferrante, CEO of Planet Records, posted a reel on Instagram celebrating the global phenomenon of "Dichavate" and, by the way, subtly reproaches those who have fueled the controversy surrounding the song instead of seizing the moment to keep creating.
Recorded from a professional studio, Ferrante opens the video with a statement that captures his mood: “Today should be a great celebration for Cuban music.” And he has reasons to celebrate: in his own words, “Dichavate has officially entered the fifth most listened to song in the world and is in the Global Top 50” on Spotify.
The song, released on December 24, 2025 by Ya Ice Dilan, Rey Tony, Helabusador, and DJ Honda under the label JIP Music Global, has accumulated over 112 million streams on Spotify and over 88 million on YouTube, in addition to millions of posts on TikTok.
Ferrante emphasizes that the achievement is neither coincidence nor the work of a single person, but the result of an international team: Ice Dilan from Havana, Rey Tony and Helabusador from Miami, DJ Honda from Santiago de Cuba, JIP Music from the United States, and Planet Records from Europe with their marketing and "native algorithm."
"It is the celebration of the union of various experiences and forces from different parts of the world," says the Italian producer, who also points out that in Europe there is no separate classification for Latin music, which makes the outcome even more significant: "The Cuban kids are going up against a monster like Shakira."
However, the festive tone of the video has a deeper layer. Ferrante alludes, without naming anyone directly, to those who try to "rewrite history" and to a "famous manager" who joined the project when the song was already a success. "When there is success, there are also those who claim it happened solely because of me," he points out with irony.
This comment is part of the authorship dispute that erupted in June 2026, when Helabusador and Rey Tony claimed to have written the song, while the JIP Music Global team defended that the track fully belongs to the label and that the main artist is Ya Ice Dilan.
Before closing the video, Ferrante poses the question that encapsulates his entire message: "Wouldn't it have been better to go into the studio all together and do another Dichavate?"
The reel surpassed 7,120 likes and 343 comments in just a few hours, with reactions ranging from enthusiastic support to irony.
