The Cuban millionaire businesswoman Zulema Sáez opened the doors to one of her vacation properties in San Agustin, Florida, a beach house valued at $1.8 million.
The luxurious home is occasionally enjoyed and also rented out through Airbnb in the Luxury category. The Spanish influencer and real estate agent Robert Sielmann showcased a tour of the beautiful property on his YouTube channel.
Zulema arrived from Cuba at the age of 28 with no money or contacts. Today she is the founder and CEO of A'Zul ABA Therapy, an applied behavior therapy agency for children with autism based in Houston, Texas, with more than 60 employees and over eight years of experience in the field.
She is a psychologist, an entrepreneur, and at the same time, she has been building a real estate portfolio for years that includes two properties in Florida, several in Houston, and a luxury apartment under construction.
Sielmann asked her how many properties she has in total, but Zulema smiled and replied, "I have a few, but over there in Houston and here in Florida. And, well, another one that's arriving soon. Yes, I have more."
The property in San Agustín —a city founded by the Spanish over 450 years ago and considered the oldest in the United States— features five bedrooms, accommodates 16 people, has a saltwater pool, sauna, sandy area, fire pit, mini-golf, golf simulator, projector, and a garage converted into a game room.
Achieving Luxury status on Airbnb, as Zulema herself explained, is not easy: "It's difficult. You have to meet many requirements to qualify."
Despite the real estate portfolio, Zulema makes it clear what her true priority is. "My baby is the company A'Zul ABA that I have in Houston. The properties are managed by other people."
What keeps her going, she says, is witnessing the progress of the children with autism that her agency supports. "When I see a parent express their gratitude, when I sit down and look at the charts of all the children's progress. That’s when everything else fades away."
Zulema confessed that when she first saw a million dollars in her bank account, she didn't feel euphoria. "I felt nothing, I just said, 'Oh, a million dollars.' And I kept working."
She acknowledges that it took time and therapy for her to allow herself to spend money on something material, like a luxury handbag for herself, after experiencing scarcity in Cuba.
This is the second video that Sielmann shoots with Zulema. The first was at a ranch-style property in Houston.
The channel of the Spanish influencer specializes in luxury properties in Florida, many of which belong to successful Cuban-American entrepreneurs. He has conducted similar tours with figures such as Ismael Cala.
