Karol G arrived this Friday in full force: her sixth studio album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, is now available on all platforms, and from the very first chords, it’s clear that the Colombian artist is here to impress.
The album brings together 14 songs that signify a radical shift in sound: farewell to the warm colors and tropical rhythms of Tropicoqueta (2025), and welcome the blue, intimate pop, and unfiltered heartache.
The artist herself described it as her "hyper-emotional and introspective" side, and she did not exaggerate one bit.
The album comes with a lineup of collaborations that would drive anyone crazy: Drake appears on "Ahí," Bruno Mars joins on "Still," the Spanish artists Judeline and Rusowsky contribute "BbY WOW," and Greg Gonzalez, guitarist of Cigarettes After Sex, leaves his mark on "Después de ti."
That last song we already knew: it was the first single from the project, released in April 2026 when Karol G made history at Coachella by becoming the first Latina woman to headline that festival in its 27-year history.
The second preview, "Matadora," arrived on July 24 during the kickoff of her Viajando por el Mundo Tropitour tour at Soldier Field in Chicago, and debuted directly at number three on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs, marking her 33rd entry into the top 10 of that chart - only Shakira, with 37, surpasses her among women.
The announcement of the album was pure Karol G: without any prior warning, on July 29, in front of her audience at Rogers Stadium in Toronto, she took the microphone and dropped the bomb. "I want to announce that my new album will be released on August 7, and it's an album that I can't wait to sing with all of you," she said amid the roar of the stadium.
To write it, the artist confined herself in Hawaii, alone with her thoughts and the mountains. "I went on many hikes by myself. I climbed the mountains on my own. I would sit there, contemplating the sky. I learned a lot about enjoying my solitude in this industry: we are very, very alone," she shared.
The result is an album that invites listeners to feel without shame. In "Alguien que te amaba," one of the most emotional tracks on the record, the lyrics state: "I never thought I would say what I'm going to say today / But what is not cared for is not eternal / You broke all the promises of this love / And the pink summer is now a winter." In "Still," featuring Bruno Mars, vulnerability reaches its peak: "I think I've never felt something like this / I think I've never loved someone the way I love you."
Karol G has over 50 million monthly listeners on Spotify and has been achieving milestones for a year now. In May 2026, she received the Excellence Award as an International Artist at the AMAs.
"I prefer to suffer because I lived too much —because I loved too much, because I had too much fun— than not having lived those experiences. I'm inviting everyone to be a little more dramatic, a little more intense," she stated to Elle magazine. Message received, Bichota.
