The Cuban model and content creator Carmen Rosa (@conmenchu) showed her followers what a workday for SHEIN in China looks like.
The experience, as she described, can combine makeup, styling, stunning settings, and sessions with dozens of costume changes.
In a video posted on Instagram, the young woman explained that the days usually start very early. After arriving with a necessary coffee in hand, she goes straight to the makeup area before starting the photo session.
Carmen Rosa particularly highlighted the facilities where she works. She explained that the building is vast and has numerous locations for carrying out different productions.
He also praised the team of stylists, whom he described as "wonderful" and "spectacular." For the Cuban, one of the appealing aspects of this work is precisely not knowing what awaits her each day.
"You will have to dress up, ride a motorcycle, wear student attire, and do a fashion shoot," he commented, before summarizing the experience as "a whole adventure."
The content creator also revealed an interesting detail regarding the selection of models. She stated that they prefer women with tanned skin and that being voluptuous can be advantageous.
The photographs can be taken both indoors and outdoors, although Carmen Rosa admits that she enjoys working indoors due to the extreme temperatures that can be found in open areas, depending on the time of year.
However, behind the images, there are also demanding days. He reported that a session can involve between 60 and 80 outfit changes.
"Believe me, that's a lot," he affirmed. He also explained that he knows what time he starts, but not necessarily when he will finish his work. During these long sessions, the models have a break for meals and rest.
Despite the challenges, Carmen Rosa reflected very positively on her time in the fashion industry in the Asian giant.
"Modeling in China and at SHEIN has been one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences I've had in China," concluded the Cuban, who continues to share on social media details of her professional and daily life experience in the Asian country.
Shein, founded in China and headquartered in Guangzhou, is considered the largest fast fashion platform in the world. Its marketing strategy heavily relies on influencers and models from various nationalities. It serves as a source of income for international models and content creators.
The case of @conmenchu joins that of other Cuban models who are making their way in international creative industries after emigrating, a reality that contrasts with the economic and mobility limitations faced by those who remain on the island.
