The Cuban influencer La Dura did not hold back after the Miss Universe Cuba 2026 gala, held on Thursday night in Miami. Just hours after Mia Dio was crowned, Diliamne Jouve González - the real name of the content creator - posted a story on her Instagram praising all the participants... along with a critique that did not go unnoticed.

It began with generosity: "All the girls who participated in Miss Cuba were beautiful, without exception. And yes, it's true that there is only one crown, so congratulations to the new queen who will have the honor of representing us at Miss Universe 2026."

But then came the "but."

“To be completely honest, once again I am convinced that beauty contests disappoint me,” La Dura wrote. “I don’t always feel that the outcome truly reflects what we saw on stage.”

Without naming any particular candidate or directly pointing to the winner, her remark was left open to interpretation, which— as often happens with her— quickly sparked conversation among her followers.

The influencer quickly clarified the tone of her message: "This is simply my personal opinion, with respect and admiration for all the women who had the courage to participate and represent our country."

That balance between frankness and respect is precisely the hallmark of La Dura on social media: straightforward, unfiltered, but not seeking gratuitous scandal.

The crown of the night went to Mia Angelina Donadio Cancio, better known as Mia Dio, representative of Isla de la Juventud, who triumphed among 19 candidates representing provinces and regions of Cuba.

For Mia Dio, victory has a special flavor: she had already competed in the 2025 edition, where she reached the Top 5 and won the title of Miss Popularity despite suffering from a facial paralysis shortly before the final gala.

She returned in 2026 stronger than ever and, from the early months of the competition, she was among the audience's favorites on social media.

The crown was presented to her by Lina Luaces, Miss Universe Cuba 2025, who thus concluded her year of reign on stage.

The organizers of the event celebrated the outcome with a phrase that encapsulates Mia Dio's journey well: "Second chances do exist, and it’s never too late to fight for a dream again."

With the title in hand, Mia Dio will represent Cuba at Miss Universe 2026, scheduled for November at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
