A clip posted on TikTok by the user @ainadienreal is breaking the hearts of the Cuban community on social media: it captures the moment when a young woman arrives home in Cuba after four years away and, before crossing the threshold, lets out a scream of "Grandma!" that says it all.

The video doesn't need any more script than that second. The reaction in the comments was immediate and overwhelming, with dozens of Cubans inside and outside the island sharing their own stories of separation.

"What excitement when shouting 'grandma,'" wrote a user, summarizing in a few words what thousands felt upon seeing the scene.

Another user left a request that many would like to make their own: "God, grant me the joy of being able to give that shout too, I cried with this video, blessings for both of them."

But not all comments end with an embrace. Someone recounted their own wait with a honesty that shook those who read it: "Tears fell from my eyes when I read that 'grandma'. One of my grandsons tells me, 'Grandma, when will the moment come when I can hug you again?' It's been almost three years this December since I last saw him in person, and now I have another granddaughter who's six months old, and through video calls, she wants to hug me."

The most heartbreaking was from a user who said, "I couldn't stop crying, I have to scream it from his grave," a phrase that reminds us that separation can sometimes become permanent before the reunion occurs.

There was also room for hope. Another user shared that it's her turn in two months: "After almost five years, nothing and no one can replace that hug."

It is not the first time that a reunion like this shakes the networks: in mid-August, another video showed a Cuban woman who returned after four years and her grandmother did not recognize her when she opened the door, a scene that also went viral.
