The clip, posted by the White House on X, shows Trump in a dark suit, green tie, and a bright green light ring in his hand. With that ring, the character constructs a wall at the border with Mexico, brings factories to life under the sign "American Manufacturing," and deploys military ships and aircraft.
The caption of the post quotes the character's official oath: "In the brightest day, in the darkest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might beware my power... The light of the Green Lantern!"
In just a few hours, the post gathered over 19 million views, nearly 65,000 "likes," and more than 12,500 comments, with reactions ranging from enthusiastic support to mockery and criticism.
The video was released on the same day that episode four of the HBO Max series Lanterns was aired, a production of the new DC Universe by James Gunn and Peter Safran, starring Aaron Pierre as John Stewart.
