Valentina Ferrer confirmed her breakup with Colombian singer J Balvin this Wednesday through a statement posted on her Instagram stories, marking the end of a relationship that lasted nearly a decade and was one of the most followed in Latin entertainment.

The 32-year-old Argentine model and entrepreneur, announced the separation in a calm message from her account: "After sharing so many years and important moments together, José and I have decided to take separate paths."

In the text, Ferrer emphasized that the decision was made jointly and without conflict: "It has been a decision made out of love, respect, and the desire to do what is best for our family."

Both are parents of Río, born in June 2021, whom the model explicitly mentioned: "Our priority will always be to support Rio with all our love."

The statement concluded with a request for discretion: "We are experiencing this process with peace and deeply appreciate the understanding and respect towards this very personal moment for us."

J Balvin, whose real name is José Álvaro Osorio Balvín, had not made any public statement at the time the news broke.

The confirmation comes weeks after rumors of infidelity that shook the couple's environment. In early August, the Mexican model and influencer Melanie Pavola publicly accused the singer of having been unfaithful to Ferrer during her pregnancy, during an alleged encounter that took place in New York between 2020 and 2021. According to Pavola's account, after that meeting, the artist allegedly revealed to her that Valentina was pregnant. The accusations included photos and an audio recording, sparking widespread media debate.

Neither Balvin nor Ferrer responded to those accusations at the time, which fueled speculation about the true nature of their relationship.

The couple met in 2017 during the filming of the music video "Sigo Extrañándote" and formalized their relationship in 2018. The relationship had already gone through a crisis in 2019, with a temporary breakup before reconciling. In January 2025, J Balvin performed the song "Río" in Paris, dedicated to his family, and Valentina cried with emotion during the concert, which was then interpreted as a sign of familial strength.

The separation brings an end to nearly ten years of a story filled with public highs and lows, a child together, and, in recent weeks, the burden of accusations that neither of them wanted to address before the cameras.
