The Cuban reggaeton artist Velito El Bufón (Dariel Gutiérrez Pérez) shared a series of photographs on his Instagram account this Tuesday with his Spanish girlfriend Paula Martínez, strolling along the Gran Vía in Madrid under the phrase "From Madrid to heaven".
The images show the couple kissing and posing at sunset in front of the iconic Edificio Carrión —known for its Schweppes sign— one of the most recognizable symbols of Madrid's central avenue.
The singer appears with long braids, sunglasses, and a dark brown t-shirt, while Paula shows off her long, straight blonde hair and a black dress, in a postcard that his followers received with enthusiasm: the post gathered nearly 15,000 "likes" and more than 120 comments in just a few hours.
The relationship between the two became public on April 13 of this year, although the couple was seen together for the first time in Spain weeks earlier, in March, when the artist was beginning to establish his presence in Europe.
Since then, the couple has continued to publicly share moments from their relationship: a romantic yacht ride in June, trips to Cuba in the middle of summer, and, at the beginning of September, a family getaway with the singer's eldest son.
In July, Velito had to address rumors suggesting a possible breakup and was seen with Paula at a restaurant in Havana, an appearance that seemed to clear up the speculation without the need for statements.
Paula Martínez, a Spanish cabin crew member, opened her Instagram profile to the public in August and quickly surpassed 30,000 followers, amid the growing interest among the artist's fans in the couple.
Velito El Bufón left Cuba in February of this year and since then has engaged in a busy schedule across Europe, performing in Benidorm, Tenerife, and Rome, in addition to establishing a stronger presence in Spain.
His connection to Madrid is even reflected in his music: in July, he previewed the song "La mujer del Género," where the singer himself drops the line "how we love Spanish women," a line that now takes on a more personal meaning in light of these images.
The Madrid getaway shows that Velito El Bufón and Paula Martínez continue to publicly share their relationship, this time with Gran Vía as the backdrop for a romance that has piqued the interest of fans of Cuban urban music.
