The Cuban influencer Claudia Artiles published a video on Instagram and TikTok this Monday in which she candidly responded to a follower who criticized her physical appearance, and used the opportunity to announce that she would turn that comment into a source of income.
Artiles was straightforward from the very first moment and replied without any filters: "I'm going to make money off your comment. Nobody asked you to comment to me."
The criticism that sparked the response came from a user who pointed out that there are "more beautiful natural women" than her who do not need to undergo cosmetic surgery. Artiles not only rejected the comment but also used it as a springboard to defend her aesthetic choices.
"When I had a body like a cassava, I was told that I was fat and had a milk belly. Now that I'm slim and well-proportioned, someone like you comes along to tell me that I'm too thin," the content creator, based in Miami, stated.
Far from criticizing those who choose not to undergo surgery, Artiles made a clear distinction: "If a woman is natural and doesn't need to go to the surgeon, that's perfect for me, I applaud them. I had to go to the surgeon, but I don't interfere with anyone, I don't go to anyone's profile to say anything."
The central argument of the video was a defense of self-esteem above external standards: "I know there are prettier women than me, but if I feel good, have self-esteem, and feel attractive, what's your problem? You're just envious."
He also made it clear what his policy is regarding those who come to his profile to criticize: "When they come to my profile, they have to deal with the fact that I'll respond to them and that I'll monetize their comment."
This is not the first time that Artiles has turned controversy into profitable content. Last July, he announced that he would donate the money earned from another controversial video, reinforcing a strategy he employs whenever he faces attacks on social media.
Criticism of her body intensified following the body reshaping surgery she underwent in Miami at the end of April, which included the removal of excess abdominal tissue and breast surgery, preceded a few days earlier by an endolift on her double chin.
In August, Artiles had already exploded against another Cuban who accused her of not supporting her when she asked for help to grow on social media, which shows a pattern of public response to any form of confrontation.
