A fire consumed part of a residence in Coral Gables, Miami, on Tuesday morning, leaving the roof destroyed and the interior charred, according to reported by Telemundo 51.
The fire was reported at 630 Solano Prado, a residential area established in this municipality of Miami-Dade County. When the Coral Gables Fire Department crews arrived on the scene, they found "a residential fire with the structure fully engulfed in flames."
What aggravated the situation was that there were people inside the house at the moment the fire broke out.
All occupants were able to exit safely and were assessed on-site by the fire department personnel, authorities confirmed. No injuries were reported.
A video of the incident shows intense orange flames emerging from the property as a thick column of smoke rose into the air and spilled over the edges of the roof.
The images captured after extinguishing the fire reveal the extent of the damage: the ceiling is completely destroyed, and numerous belongings of the residents are found charred inside.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Residential fires have been a consistent news topic in the Miami-Dade area over the past few years. In March 2026, a fire destroyed a luxury home in the bay, and in February of the same year authorities investigated another incident at a single-family home in Miami.
Cuban families residing in the county have also been affected by this type of incident. In September 2024, a couple of Cubans lost their lives in a fire in an apartment building in Miami, and months earlier another Cuban family found themselves homeless after a fire in a trailer home.
The Coral Gables Fire Department, established in 1926, operates independently from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, and rescue operations. In March of this year, it inaugurated its fourth station on Sunset Drive, aimed at improving response times in the southern part of the city and the coastal area.
The authorities have not specified when the investigation into the causes of the incident in Solano Prado will be concluded.
