Several museums in Miami-Dade will offer free general admission on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, 2026 to eligible cardholders of Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank, through the Museums on Us program.

Among the participating institutions are the Tower of Freedom, Pérez Art Museum Miami, the Museum of Contemporary Art of North Miami, The Bass, and Miami Children's Museum. However, this is not a free event open to the public or a family pass: each center has its own access conditions, and special activities may be excluded.

Who can enter for free and what they should bring

The benefit is available to holders of active credit or debit cards from the three mentioned institutions. According to the official terms of Bank of America, they must present their card along with a valid government-issued photo identification, such as a passport, a state ID, or a driver's license.

Free admission is individual and non-transferable. Accompanying guests are not included when accompanied by the holder, although they may gain free access if they meet the criteria for another exemption specific to the museum.

The program takes place on the first full weekend of each month. It does not automatically include special exhibitions, additional experiences, shows with separate admission, or fundraising events.

Participating museums: addresses and hours

The Freedom Tower at Miami Dade College, located at 600 Biscayne Boulevard, has visiting hours from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for both days. Its exhibitions explore the history of the building and the Cuban exile experience, as well as addressing themes such as migration and language. Access details are available in their official visitor guide.

The Pérez Art Museum Miami, known as PAMM, is located at 1103 Biscayne Boulevard and is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Its visitor information page warns that tickets are subject to capacity limits and may sell out. The museum also regularly offers free admission to children six years old and under, regardless of this banking promotion.

The Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami, MOCA, is located at 770 NE 125th Street. Its published hours for Saturday and Sunday are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is another of the Miami-Dade institutions listed on the official Museums on Us list.

The Bass, at 2100 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, is open both days from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The museum allows visits without prior reservation and provides information about tickets, accessibility, and transportation on its official visiting page.

All these times correspond to the local time in Miami. Before heading out, it is advisable to check if the center has posted any changes in schedule or restrictions for the chosen date.

Miami Children's Museum: attention to the special event on Sunday

The Miami Children's Museum, located at 980 MacArthur Causeway, also participates in the program. Its regular hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and its ticket page includes a specific link for Bank of America cardholders. When using it, it's important to select the correct date and check availability.

This museum has an additional condition for access to its exhibition areas: adults without children and children without a supervising adult are not allowed. An adult’s ticket does not automatically make the tickets for minors free; however, babies under 12 months do benefit from a special exemption provided by the museum.

Additionally, on Sunday, October 4, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Not So Scary Halloween Bash is scheduled, a special event that raises funds for the center's educational programs.

This celebration should not be confused with the free access provided by Museums on Us, whose conditions exclude fundraising events. Those planning to visit the museum on Sunday must directly confirm what general access will be available outside of the event by calling 305-373-5437.

How to prepare for the visit without overspending

The official Museums on Us locator allows you to search for institutions by city or postal code and check the admission procedures published for each one.

Before purchasing a general admission ticket, check how the benefit applies at the selected museum. Having an eligible card does not guarantee a spot nor does it replace a reservation when the center requires one.

The free admission applies to general entry, not to all expenses related to the outing. For example, parking next to the Miami Children's Museum has a posted rate of two dollars per hour; The Bass refers to paid public parking in its vicinity.

There are also options for those who do not have these cards. The Bass offers free admission to residents of Miami Beach and Surfside who can prove their residency, as well as other exemptions. This is a benefit separate from Museums on Us and should be inquired about directly with the museum.
