Those seeking employment in Miami-Dade have several job openings this week in cleaning, driving, labor assistance, and customer service, in addition to a recruitment event scheduled for Tuesday.

The official page of Hot Jobs from CareerSource South Florida currently features a selection of positions identified as “Hiring Now”, along with listings that remain open until they are filled.

The list is different from the recently compiled public job vacancies in Miami-Dade by CiberCuba: in this case, it involves opportunities channeled through CareerSource South Florida and a specific hiring event.

Recruitment for cleaning workers on October 6th

The nearest upcoming opportunity is a recruitment event for cleaning workers that CareerSource identifies as “ABS Recruitment Event for Janitorial Worker.”

It is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

CareerSource keeps the event on its official list of employers who are currently hiring and provides access to the brochure with specific details of the job opening from that same page.

As this is a recruitment event with specific date and time, interested parties should recheck the official Hot Jobs page before attending, to confirm the location, requirements, and any last-minute changes.

They are looking for a driver for a mobile unit of CareerSource

CareerSource also has an open position for Mobile Unit Driver, until the position is filled.

The work is part of the mobile service that provides job assistance to various communities and helps individuals seeking employment with resumes, referrals to vacancies, job search support, and other services.

The currently linked description by CareerSource lists among the qualifications a Class B CDL commercial license, experience driving medium or large vehicles, good customer service and communication skills, and availability to work varying hours.

It also notes that proficiency in English and Spanish, or English and Creole, is valued.

Applicants must verify the updated conditions directly with CareerSource before submitting their application, especially any salary or contractual information.

They are also accepting resumes for a mobile unit assistant

Another position currently listed on the hiring page is Mobile Unit Assistant.

In this case, CareerSource indicates that it is accepting resumes.

The worker participates in mobile units, assisting community members with job searches, preparing or updating resumes, referring them to available positions, and providing other services related to entering the job market.

Among the sought-after characteristics are experience related to customer service, employment, human resources, or labor services; strong communication skills; flexibility in scheduling; and the ability to work directly with the public.

Experience in call centers is seen as an advantage, and candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Creole are preferred.

Customer service to assist individuals seeking employment

CareerSource also has an open position for OPS Customer Service Specialist.

Its role involves providing assistance to job seekers and includes guidance in job searching, referrals to job opportunities, support in finding placement, and directing individuals to support services.

The job description also includes assistance related to unemployment benefits.

CareerSource highlights among the valued qualifications experience in customer service, workforce development, employment, or similar activities, along with strong communication skills. Experience in call centers is seen as favorable, and bilingualism is once again appreciated.

Position available to assist military families

The Hot Jobs page also includes a position for Military Family Employment Advocate, which remains open until filled.

This program is aimed at providing priority employment services to spouses and family members of active duty military personnel.

CareerSource explains that its services for this population include job counseling, job referrals, assistance in preparing resumes, information on the job market, and support for re-entering the workforce.

Beware of salaries that appear in old documents

There is an important detail that those interested should keep in mind when consulting certain listings linked from the CareerSource website.

Some of these documents were produced years ago and still show outdated salary figures that should not be interpreted as the current salary for a hiring in October 2026.

Florida raised its minimum wage to 15 dollars per hour starting September 30, 2026, according to FloridaCommerce.

Therefore, if an old record linked from CareerSource shows a lower figure, the candidate should confirm the current compensation directly with the employer or with CareerSource before accepting any offer.

And what about the Metrobus driver jobs?

The CareerSource page still includes among its Hot Jobs a reference to Miami-Dade Transit Bus Operator accompanied by the indication "Apply Today."

However, the official current information from the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works presents a different situation.

The official recruitment page for Metrobus operators currently indicates that interested individuals must wait for the upcoming hiring dates.

For that reason, that plaza should not be considered open until Miami-Dade publishes a new application period.

When it reopens, the county reports that operator apprentices currently receive $20.15 per hour during training and start at $21.21 after completing it, along with other benefits. The program also includes a hiring bonus of up to $5,000, subject to certain conditions and tenure requirements.

How to search for and apply for these opportunities

CareerSource South Florida has a system for interested individuals to create a job profile and search for available positions.

Their official Employ Miami-Dade registration guide explains that the complete process can take approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

The applicant must create an account, complete personal and professional information, add education, training, and work experience, and then use the resume generator.

Once the profile is created, you can search for jobs by occupation, salary, education level, and other criteria, and follow the specific instructions for each listing.

CareerSource also publishes a daily list of job opportunities. The most recent one available this weekend corresponds to October 2 and features ten prominent job openings in Miami-Dade.

Help can also be requested in person

People needing assistance with writing a resume, searching for job openings, or completing applications can visit the CareerSource South Florida centers.

The organization maintains centers in Hialeah, Little Havana, North Miami Beach, West Dade, Perrine, Carol City, and other areas.

Full-service centers typically operate from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although certain locations may have different hours or appointment systems.

CareerSource also provides guidance for those who need training before applying for certain positions. CiberCuba recently explained how its assistance programs work for studying high-demand trades and professions, including transportation, electricity, technology, health, and logistics.

In any case, job offers can change quickly. Before attending an event or sending documents, it is advisable to double-check that the job listing is still active, verify the current salary, and read the employer's full requirements.
