Rachel Chang, Miss International Cuba 2026, graced the runways of Paris Fashion Week and became the only Cuban to walk for the renowned Filipino designer Michael Cinco, as confirmed this Friday by Sergio Meso, director of the National Beauty Pageant of Cuba, the organization that manages her international career.

The Michael Cinco fashion show, in which Chang participated alongside models, mostly from France and other European countries, took place at the Hôtel Le Marois in Paris as part of the prêt-à-porter spring/summer 2027 edition of the event, held from September 28 to October 6.

"Rachel Chang, Miss RNBCuba International, attended Paris Fashion Week and walked the runway for the renowned Michael Cinco among several designers," Meso stated in comments to CiberCuba.

Michael Cinco is a Filipino haute couture designer based in Dubai, founder of his own sewing house in 2003, and regarded as one of the leading figures in global haute couture.

In 2016, he became the first Filipino designer to present haute couture in Paris and has received international recognition, including the WGSN Breakthrough Designer Award.

The show by Michale Cinco in Paris was produced by Uno Rodríguez.

In addition to the Michael Cinco parade, Chang participated in other shows during Paris Fashion Week. She walked for designer Marjorie Renner and for Miyoko, a Japanese designer, at an event produced by MGI Entertainment in the iconic Gare Saint-Lazare.

Chang's presence in Paris comes just weeks after his appearance at the New York Fashion Week, held from September 10 to 15, where he walked the runway for designers Leo Almodal, Uno Rodriguez, HER.I, and Meehee Hanbok, and participated in a forum on fast fashion, environmental impact, and labor conditions in the industry.

Born in Havana with roots in Pinar del Río, Chang is a graduate in journalism and law, and she practices as a lawyer in South Florida.

She was crowned Miss International Cuba 2026 on June 29 in Miami by the organization RNBCuba, led by Sergio Meso.

Her participation in the major international fashion circuits is not an end in itself, but rather part of her preparation for a greater goal: to represent Cuba at the 64th edition of Miss International, which will take place on November 25, 2026 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Chang was not the only Cuban on the Paris runways in this edition. The model Legna Blanco, hailing from Güines, Mayabeque, also walked the runway that same week, represented by Next Management Paris, showcasing the growing prominence of the Cuban diaspora in the world of international fashion.
