The Santa Rosa County in the northwest of Florida lifted evacuation orders for zones A, B, and C this Monday, but warned that residents should not yet return to Navarre Beach, where it is necessary to restore essential infrastructure, including power supply.
The decision was announced in an official county statement in which the authorities clarified that the suspension of evacuations does not mean that all areas are safe for return.
In Navarre Beach, residents will need to wait until critical infrastructure is restored, including electricity. The county has not set a date for the return.
The authorities explained that, following the passage of Hurricane Isaias, risks remain related to downed power lines, flooding, damaged utility systems, and other hazardous conditions.
For this reason, they advised those who left their homes to wait for authorization from local authorities before returning to the evacuated areas, even after the orders have been lifted.
Santa Rosa emphasized that residents must adhere to official communications before traveling, due to the dangers that may still linger in the affected areas.
They also urged residents to stay informed through Santa Rosa Emergency Management and the Sheriff's Office, especially to learn about access conditions and updates on essential services.
The decision regarding the evacuations is independent of the nighttime curfew announced last Saturday. The statement issued this Monday does not announce any changes to that provision.
