Hurricane Isaias: The ninth named storm of 2020, Isaias, formed on Wednesday, July 29, over the Caribbean Sea, according to information from the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

The public advisory issued by the NHC at 5 AM (local time in Miami) located Isaías 165 km west of Ponce, Puerto Rico, and 255 km southeast of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. It had sustained winds of 95 km/h and was moving northwest at 33 km/h.

On July 30, Isaias reached hurricane status.
