The Cuban comedian Andy Vázquez, remembered for his character Facundo Correcto in Vivir del cuento, reappeared on social media after a health scare that took him urgently to a hospital in Miami on October 22. With his usual sense of humor but also visibly reflective, the artist shared how he is feeling and confessed how close he felt to death.

“I saw the three steps to heaven,” he expressed in a video shared on his Facebook page, where he appeared to be enjoying a coffee without sugar while thanking for the numerous expressions of affection and concern received in recent days.

"I entered the hospital nearly dying, praying, and thanks to God," the comedian recounted, hinting at how difficult that experience was, which, in his own words, will mark a turning point in his life.

The incident occurred on October 22, when Andy was filming a commercial at a Peruvian restaurant in Miami. He reported that after eating, he started to feel unwell while driving and managed to park his vehicle before his condition worsened.

The comedian, who suffers from diabetes, explained that his blood glucose level reached 273 mg/dL and his blood pressure dropped to 80/40 mmHg. This situation required him to be taken to a hospital, where he received medical attention and stayed until the early hours of the morning.

Due to this unexpected health issue, Andy Vázquez had to cancel his participation in the show Supermachi, scheduled for October 23 in Miami. In his place, the comedian Ramón Mustelier took over his role on stage.

Now, back on social media, the artist wants to share a reflection with his followers about the importance of taking care of one's health and valuing life.

During the video, Andy referred to a biblical passage from 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, which speaks of the body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, to convey a message about the responsibility of taking care of oneself.

His approach to faith has gained special significance in recent months. In April of this year, the comedian was baptized in a church in Miami, a moment he publicly shared that marked a new chapter in his spiritual life.

"From now on, my life is changing," he affirmed in his recent message, making it clear that the scare has caused him to rethink some habits and pay more attention to his well-being.

Although he did not provide new details about his treatment or the results of the medical consultation he had pending, the comedian reassured his followers and made it clear that he remains optimistic about moving forward. "We keep fighting," he stated.

It is not the first time that Andy has gone through a difficult health period since he settled in Miami at the end of 2019, after leaving Vivir del cuento. In January 2021, he also had to be hospitalized for complications related to COVID-19.

Before saying goodbye, the beloved Facundo took the opportunity to invite his followers to enjoy episode 16 of his YouTube series This is Life and closed with a phrase that reflects his new attitude after what happened: "Health and coffee without sugar, let’s take care because life should be enjoyed."
