The Halloween weekend is arriving in South Florida with a lineup of free activities for families, spread across Miami-Dade and Broward counties this Friday and Saturday.

Oakland Park kicks off the calendar tonight with its Halloween Bash at Wimberly Field, located at 4000 NE 3rd Ave, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., with free admission.

The event transforms the sports field into a festive space with decorated vehicles for Trunk or Treat, a costume contest, inflatables, a treasure hunt for the little ones, a DJ, and a dance floor.

On Saturday, the action moves to Miami-Dade with three simultaneous options to choose from depending on the area.

In Coral Gables, Miracle Mile transforms into a trick-or-treat zone from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., with businesses along the avenue handing out candy, face painting starting at 3:30 p.m., balloon artists, and a magic show at 5:00 p.m. Participation is free, although the city recommends registering on Eventbrite to estimate attendance.

The accompanying schedule at the Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre —which includes performances starting at 2:00 p.m.— may have different conditions and costs compared to the main event, so it's advisable to check before attending.

In Wynwood, the commissioner of Miami's District 5, Christine King, is organizing the HalloWynwood Extravaganza at Roberto Clemente Park, 101 NW 34th St, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., also free of charge. The park will offer face painting, inflatable castles, a trick-or-treat trail, a themed photo station, and a DJ.

"HalloWynwood is a wonderful opportunity to bring families and neighbors together for a night of Halloween fun," declared Commissioner King. "We look forward to celebrating with our community and creating special memories for everyone."

This family event should not be confused with HalloWYN, the night party for adults taking place on the same day at Wynwood Marketplace, 2250 NW 2nd Ave, starting at 7:00 p.m.

In Hialeah, the Trunk-or-Treat at Milander Park kicks off on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. with free candy for the kids, a children's area, food trucks, and music.

The official source of the municipality does not explicitly confirm the free general admission or the closing time, so it is recommended to check those details before going.

In all cases, it is advisable to check for possible schedule changes and to keep in mind that food or additional activities may incur separate costs.

For those seeking more entertainment options without spending in the region, South Florida has maintained a schedule of free museums and festivals that extends until this weekend.
