A Cuban resident in Lehigh Acres, Florida, shared on social media the unfortunate condition her house was left in after she rented it to a woman who, according to her complaint, brought in more than 19 cats into the property without her permission.
The owner, identified on TikTok as Yuri Cesar (@yurii_1218), shared a video in which she recounted her experience and expressed her outrage over the damage she found in the property after spending more than two months dealing with a legal process to recover the residence.
According to what he explained, it all began when he decided to rent the house to a woman who, during the first few months, seemed to be an exemplary tenant. She paid on time and even advanced the rent money, so he never imagined what would come next.
"I admit out of desperation, I needed to rent the house, and she was literally the first person who wanted to rent it. I took a deposit from her and let my guard down. She paid me for two months, even in advance," said the Cuban, who acknowledged that she made the mistake of not checking the woman's background before signing the contract.
But the situation changed completely. According to her testimony, the tenant began to impose restrictions within the property, installed cameras, and even prohibited her from approaching the front door and the electrical panel of the house.
The Cuban woman assured that she even had to request police assistance to access the electrical panel after a circuit breaker tripped and the woman refused to open the door for her.
"By chance, I had to go in last night with a police officer because a circuit breaker in my house tripped and she wouldn't open the door for me; I had to call the police," he recounted.
However, one of the aspects that outraged him the most was discovering that the tenant had brought more than 19 cats into the apartment without his permission.
In another video, recorded in the property's kitchen, the owner showed the state the space had been left in and expressed her disbelief at what she was seeing.
"How can there be someone in this life who can live like this? I want someone to explain to me if this is human to live like this; it is inhumane," he lamented.
The owner also stated that she later discovered that the woman had similar issues in another residence. "That person has an open case at the previous house where she lived; she is involved in this," she asserted, although she did not provide documentation about that alleged background and explained that she could not disclose more details because there were still pending legal matters.
visibly affected by what happened, the Cuban woman confessed that the most painful part has been seeing how a property she acquired through years of effort and sacrifice has been left.
"The sacrifice I made to have my house... for an unfortunate person to come and ruin what I built with so much effort, yes, it hurts me, it hurts me a lot," he expressed.
Her experience led her to issue a warning to other homeowners in the Hispanic community of Lehigh Acres not to make the same mistake when renting out their homes.
"I want the entire Hispanic community in Lehigh Acres to ask for a background check and a police record before renting to someone in their home, so they don't go through what I am going through," he advised.
It is not the first time that Cuban property owners in Florida have shared similar experiences. In December 2025, Cuban Yandry García reported that a tenant had left around 30 dogs in his home and caused severe damage.
In February 2026, the Cuban Mai Algarete also showed the conditions in which she found her mobile home, with scratched floors and damaged walls after recovering the property. Months later, in August, another Cuban was shocked to discover accumulated garbage and bad odors in a house she had rented in Florida.
In Yuri's case, his main advice for those considering renting a property is clear: check the backgrounds of potential tenants before handing over the keys, to avoid an experience as bitter as the one he claims to have lived through.
