At 8:00 PM, Cuban local time, closes this Friday, November 6, 2026, with the US dollar on the rise and the euro unchanged compared to the previous session.

The greenback reaches an average value of 935 Cuban pesos, while the European currency remains steady at 1,000 pesos. The MLC, on the other hand, shows a reference exchange rate of 653 pesos, unchanged from yesterday, although with low trading volume.

The United States dollar is trading at 935 Cuban pesos (CUP) at the close of this Friday. This represents an increase of 7.5 pesos compared to the previous day, when the average value was at 928 CUP. In the past week, the greenback has risen by 57.5 pesos, which is equivalent to an increase of 6.6% compared to the 878 CUP it was at seven days ago.

Regarding the monthly evolution, the exchange rate has accumulated an increase of 167.5 pesos compared to 30 days ago, although it is advisable to take this comparison with caution, as it may partly reflect adjustments in the index methodology. The dollar continues to dictate the trends in the informal market amid a context of structural currency shortages.

The euro closes the day at 1,000 Cuban pesos (CUP), unchanged from the previous session. Weekly, the European currency has gained 42.5 pesos from the 957 CUP it was at seven days ago, an increase of 4.4%.

Exchange Rate Evolution

The maximum of the last 30 days stands at 1,001 CUP, just one peso above the current level. It is established as the most expensive currency in the Cuban parallel market, surpassing the dollar by 65 pesos and consolidating its dominant position.

The MLC closes with a reference rate of 653 Cuban pesos (CUP), unchanged from yesterday. However, the available data during this time frame is limited, so this value should be taken with caution.

In the last week, the MLC has increased by 115 pesos from the 538 CUP of seven days ago, a rise of 21.4%. Without physical existence, its use is limited to the state-owned businesses that accept it, which restricts its circulation compared to cash currencies.

  • Exchange rate of the USD to CUP: 935 CUP.
  • Exchange rate of the euro EUR to CUP: 1.000 CUP.
  • Exchange rate from MLC to CUP: 653 CUP (indicative value, few data).

The official exchange rate of the Central Bank of Cuba (Segment III) is 793 CUP per dollar and 890 CUP per euro, which remains well below the values that are prevalent in the everyday informal currency market. The gap between both markets exceeds 140 pesos in the case of the dollar and 110 pesos in the case of the euro.

Although Segment III was presented as a more flexible exchange mechanism, its official rate remains far from that of the informal market and fails to meet the actual demand for foreign currency from the population.

In the past month, the official rate of the dollar has risen from 695 to 793 CUP, and the euro from 782 to 890 CUP, a rise that reflects sustained pressure on the Cuban peso, but still remains far from the levels of the parallel market.

In a scenario of sustained inflation, low state wages, and a growing partial dollarization of the economy, every fluctuation in the informal market directly affects internal prices and the purchasing power of Cubans.

The close this Friday, with the dollar at a 30-day high according to available data, confirms the upward trend of the greenback against the peso in recent weeks.

The CiberCuba Exchange Rate is an index of the informal Cuban market developed from the automated analysis of thousands of currency exchange posts in Telegram and Facebook groups. The calculation disregards atypical offers and spam messages, weighs each transaction according to its recency, and consolidates a representative value that is updated several times a day.
