Alejandro Pérez Gómez He was born in Havana on February 7, 1964. He is a cinema, television and video director of photography, director and cameraman considered one of the undisputed masters of Cuban audiovisuals and internationally recognized for being the director of music videos for international figures such as Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony, Yandel, Luis Enrique, Pitbull, Paulina Rubio, in others, in addition to many artists from the Island such as, Juan Formell, Chucho Valdés, Omara Portuondo, People of Area, Good Faith, Good Descemer, Ivette Cepeda, Leoni Torres or Baby Lores.
He has a degree in teaching and from the Faculty of Audiovisual Media of the Higher Institute of Art, specializing in Photography Direction. He is a member of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and the Association of Cuban Authors of Photography.
He has been the director of photography for feature films, shorts, fiction series, documentaries, video clips and advertising spots, in addition to the photos of some 50 phonograms from 1985 to date.
His works have won numerous awards on and off the island and many of his video clips have won the popular Lucas awards, considered the most important event for Cuban video clips.
On the small screen he worked on the popular series La Leyenda del Rayo as director of photography, for which he won a Caracol Award. In cinema, his work behind the camera is linked to emblematic works such as Amor vertical (1986), Habana Blues (2004), Habanastation (2009), Conducta (2012) or Boccaccerías Habaneras (2013).
As a director and director of photography, he has more than 200 video clips made since 1996 with the popular song Idilio, by Laito and Su Sonora until one of his most recent works in 2020 where he debuts in Latin trap. signing the work of Puerto Rican Anuel AA and Enrique Iglesias Fútbol y rumba.
In 2014 the name of Alejandro Pérez became international thanks to the video clip of the song Dancing with Enrique Iglesias, Sean Paul, Descend and Local People. The director had already been behind the first version of the audiovisual and was the director and director of photography of the new version that included Enrique Iglesias.
