11J Trials

The trials for the protests of July 11, 2021 in Cuba have been carried out amid a climate of tension and controversy. These demonstrations, which spread throughout the country, were called by Cuban citizens who demanded political and economic changes on the island.

Cuban authorities have carried out a series of mass arrests in connection with the protests, and many of the protesters have been subjected to summary trials. The charges against them include crimes such as public disorder, contempt of authority and spreading contagious diseases.

International human rights organizations have denounced that these trials do not meet standards of justice and that the detainees have not received due legal process. It has also been noted that the Cuban authorities have used repression to intimidate citizens who participated in the protests.
