Note
A simple, delicious, and versatile dish that delights everyone, especially the little ones in the house, and allows you to make the most of small pieces of chicken, transforming them into a meal thanks to the ham and cheese.
Ingredients
for 1 person:
- 2 chicken breast fillets
- 1 slice of ham (cooked, Serrano, or whichever you have at home)
- 1 slice of cheese (that melts well, or grated cheese for baking)
- 1 egg
- Breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Garlic (natural or powdered)
- lemon juice (optional)
- Frying oil (sunflower, soybean, or corn)
Instructions
Preparation:
Step 1: Prepare the chicken
- If you prefer to stuff them, open the breasts like a book.
- If you're looking for speed, slice the breast into 2 thin fillets.
- Season the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic (fresh or powdered), and a hint of lemon juice, if desired.
- Lay the fillets on a flat surface.
- Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each fillet, making sure that they do not stick out.
Step 2: Breading and securing
- Beat the egg in a shallow bowl.
- Place the breadcrumbs on another plate.
- First, dip the stuffed fillets in the beaten egg and then in the breadcrumbs, making sure they are well coated.
- Use toothpicks to hold the fillets in place and prevent the filling from coming out.
Step 3: Fry the fillets
- Heat the oil:
- Fill a pan with plenty of oil and heat it well.
- Remove the skewers before frying.
- Fry the fillets over medium-high heat until they are golden brown on both sides.
- Use kitchen tongs to turn them easily.
- Place the fried fillets on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Serving suggestions:
Serve with a fresh salad or mashed potatoes.
For a lighter version, bake the fillets in the oven at 180 °C for 20 minutes instead of frying them.
Ready! A delicious dish that you can enjoy on any occasion
