Ingredients

for 1 person:

  1. 2 chicken breast fillets
  2. 1 slice of ham (cooked, Serrano, or whichever you have at home)
  3. 1 slice of cheese (that melts well, or grated cheese for baking)
  4. 1 egg
  5. Breadcrumbs
  6. Salt and pepper to taste
  7. Garlic (natural or powdered)
  8. lemon juice (optional)
  9. Frying oil (sunflower, soybean, or corn)

Instructions

Preparation:

Step 1: Prepare the chicken

  1. If you prefer to stuff them, open the breasts like a book.
  2. If you're looking for speed, slice the breast into 2 thin fillets.
  3. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic (fresh or powdered), and a hint of lemon juice, if desired.
  4. Lay the fillets on a flat surface.
  5. Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each fillet, making sure that they do not stick out.

Step 2: Breading and securing

  1. Beat the egg in a shallow bowl.
  2. Place the breadcrumbs on another plate.
  3. First, dip the stuffed fillets in the beaten egg and then in the breadcrumbs, making sure they are well coated.
  4. Use toothpicks to hold the fillets in place and prevent the filling from coming out.

Step 3: Fry the fillets

  1. Heat the oil:
  2. Fill a pan with plenty of oil and heat it well.
  3. Remove the skewers before frying.
  4. Fry the fillets over medium-high heat until they are golden brown on both sides.
  5. Use kitchen tongs to turn them easily.
  6. Place the fried fillets on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Serving suggestions:

Serve with a fresh salad or mashed potatoes.

For a lighter version, bake the fillets in the oven at 180 °C for 20 minutes instead of frying them.

Ready! A delicious dish that you can enjoy on any occasion
