This Thursday, the Mexican government deported 74 Cuban immigrants who were in an irregular condition in that country, authorities reported.

The official agency Latin Press reported that the undocumented immigrants arrived in Havana on a Magnicharters airline plane, and in the 31st air operation of this type in compliance with bilateral immigration agreements.

Since January 1, Mexico has repatriated the caribbean nation to 1,569 Cubans. The majority cross that country to reach the border with the United States.

The total number of people returned from countries like the US, Mexico, Bahamas and Cayman Islands rose to 5,058 in 111 operations.

The US Coast Guard It is the one that has returned the most migrants, with 3,227 rafters in 64 maritime operations.

That entity reported that the interceptions of Cubans in the sea of the Strait of Florida have already reached 4,000 during the current fiscal year that began on October 1, 2021, a figure that is independent of the arrests made by the Border Patrol in the same period.

In this same period, 61 immigrants of different nationalities have died in their attempt to cross the Strait of Florida to reach the United States.

The arrival of Cubans is also increasing along the land borders. Their arrival at the borders with Mexico and Canada experienced a new peak of 177,848 registered with a request for political refuge at the end of July, according to official figures revealed on Tuesday.

Less than two months before the end of fiscal year 2022, the migratory flow of Cubans by land broke a new record, marking the largest irregular exodus from the Caribbean nation in American history.

Statistics released by the Department of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) show that during July the avalanche of Cubans through the border strips of the United States territory rose to 20,496, after a slight decrease registered in June, when 16,448 were reported.

Reality has far exceeded the predictions of experts and the US authorities themselves, who anticipated the illegal entry of more than 150,000 Cuban immigrants at the end of FY2022.
