A Cuban minor is in critical condition after the fateful accident that occurred this Sunday in Chiapas, in which 10 Cuban migrants died and 17 people were injured.
This was confirmed this Monday by the Cuban Embassy in Mexico, indicating that he had been transferred by air to medical facilities better prepared to offer treatment to patients in intensive care.
In addition, the Cuban diplomatic legation indicated that, among the injured hospitalized, a minor was discharged from hospital.
“A minor in critical condition was airlifted to tertiary medical facilities to receive treatment; while another minor received a medical discharge. “We continue to provide consular support to the injured and their families,” the diplomatic headquarters indicated.
The Embassy did not refer to the information published by Mexican media, according to which María Fernanda Lara Taravela, a 12-year-old Cuban girl, would have died in the terrible accident.
Alleging that “Cuba maintains face-to-face and permanent contact with the victims and relatives of the nationals involved in a car accident in Chiapas,” the Cuban Foreign Ministry continues to handle information about the tragedy in an opaque manner.
The day before, the chancellor Bruno Rodriguez Grill reported that several relatives of the injured and deceased established contact with the Cuban consulates in Mexico and were offered guidance and support.
He also thanked the Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and his government for the support after the tragic accident, according to PL. An ally of the Cuban regime, in his usual appearance before the press, López Obrador repeated the arguments of Havana blaming US coercive measures ("the blockade") of responsibility for misfortunes such as this Sunday, which are usually repeated in the context of the Cuban immigration crisis.
“Cuba advocates for regular, orderly and safe migration, and also reiterates the danger and life-threatening conditions that illegal departures represent,” said the highest authorities on the island of a government that seeks by all means to avoid the problem. an event that focuses on the lack of protection and risk to life that the measures adopted to “relieve the pressure” mean, promoting a mass exodus of people towards the southern border of the United States.
In the absence of official information on the matter, CyberCuba made public the identities of four deceased Cuban women and another 15 injured people that were revealed this Monday by the Mexican site Border Portal.
Said media reported that the terrible accident leaves a provisional balance of 10 migrant women dead and 17 injured. While six bodies were waiting to be identified, Border Portal stated that all those who died in the accident were Cuban nationals.
