Blackouts announced for this Tuesday due to a 385 MW deficit: "The never-ending story"

Cubans reacted angrily upon learning of the forecast of new blackouts for this Tuesday, announced in the Electrical Union (UNE) report.

The news comes after theMonday the service will be affected due to a deficit in generation capacity for 13 hours: from 10:21 am to 11:30 pm, with a maximum impact of 399 MW at 8:20 pm.

For this Tuesday the situation is predicted to be very similar.

The availability of the national electroenergy system (SEN) at 7:00 am was 2150 MW and the demand was 2120 MW, with the entire system in service. But service cuts must begin at 9:00 am, with a maximum impact of 200 MW.

For peak hours, an availability of 2,385 MW and a maximum demand of 2,700 MW are estimated, for a deficit of 315 MW, so if the expected conditions continue, the impact would be 385 MW.

However, reality could exceed the forecast, as happened on Monday, when experts predicted a maximum impact of 290 MW and it was finally 308 MW.

At this moment there are six thermoelectric units out of service: three due to breakdowns and three due to maintenance. In addition, 23 distributed generation plants are stopped due to lack of fuel.
